About Alia
Soprano Alia Rose Ginevra is a classical and musical theatre singer, performer, and songwriter. She first fell in love with the arts at a young age while singing in the children's chorus for the Canadian Opera Company's production of Carmen in grade 7. Since then, she has performed lead roles and solos for the Canadian Children's Opera Company. Productions include Brundibar (2017), The Snow Queen (2019), The Monkiest King (2018) and Songs for a New World (2020). She also had the pleasure of playing Lord Pinkleton in Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella with the Unionville Theatre Company (2020). In June of 2023, Alia was honoured to be a part of the COSA (Centre for Opera Studies & Appreciation) Canada at Mount Allison summer vocal intensive. This year, Alia graduated from the University of Toronto studying classical voice performance under the tutelage of Frederique Vezina. Alia was apart of the chorus of UofT Opera's Opera Undergrad Ensemble. As part of the Chorus, she was in the Fall 2023 production of Nino Rota's Il Cappello di Paglia di Firenze, the Winter 2024 production of Massenet’s Cendrillon as a Spirit/Fairy #1, and the Opera Undergraduate Recitative concert (2025). This summer, Alia had the pleasure of being in the chorus of the Stratford festival's Carmina Burana, playing the part of Drusilla in the Summer Opera Lyric Theatre production of the Coronation of Poppea, and attending the St. Andrews Opera and Vocal techniques workshop.
